Makedonka Baloski (“Miki’) as admitted to practice in Illinois in 2001 and currently works as an Associate Attorney with DDV Law, Ltd. In her practice, Miki focuses on estate planning, probate, trust administration, real estate transactions and elder law. Early in her practice, she joined a prestigious Chicago law firm and focused her practice on litigation. For the next decade, she took on litigation roles learning how to most persuasively advance her clients’ positions in court.
As her career evolved, Makedonka began helping clients create estate plans to help them avoid court. Having experience handling both litigated and transactional matters, Makedonka is able to help clients plan for life’s eventualities.
When meeting with clients, Makedonka will take the time to understand and address her client’s specific concerns. She makes sure that her clients’ plans reflect their wishes and unique family circumstances. Throughout the process, she keeps them informed and even returns their calls.

Makedonka is admitted to practice law in both state and federal courts for the following jurisdictions:
- Illinois;
- Indiana;
- United States District Court for Northern Indiana;
- United States District Court for Southern Indiana and
- United States District Court for Northern Illinois.
To keep current on the law, Makedonka maintains memberships with these professional organizations:
- Illinois State Bar Association;
- Northwest Suburban Estate Planning Council;
- Northwest Suburban Community Bar Association and
- Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association.
Dedicated to Success:
While at Indiana University, Makedonka double majored in History and Anthropology. She also earned a Certificate of Study from the Russian & Eastern European studies program. After college, she interned for a U.S. Congressman and became inspired to apply to law school. Makedonka decided to attend Valparaiso University School of Law. She received a J.D. with a Certificate of Concentration in Alternative Dispute Resolution and International Law. Her law school activities included: serving as Articles Editor for the Valparaiso University Law Review; participating in Jessup International Moot Court; interning at the US Embassy in Macedonia and assisting with the filming and production of a documentary about the Holocaust in the Balkans. Upon graduation, Makedonka was awarded the Corpus Jurus Secondum Award for most overall contributions to her law school.
Makedonka and her family live in suburban Chicago. You can often find her at her children’s’ hockey, baseball or football games.
