Michael Wurster is an associate attorney with DDV Law, Ltd. Prior to joining DDV Law, Ltd., Michael worked at a prestigious Chicago law firm where he focused his practice on guardianship and decedent’s estates. Michael is well-versed in complicated litigated issues, including: will contests, trust contests, removing bad actors, replacement of rogue fiduciaries, recovering stolen assets, and appointing guardians in contested matters. Michael also has experience handling appellate cases, involving lower court decisions arising from trust and estate litigation cases.
Michael enjoys being a trusted guide and advocate for his clients during some of the most emotionally charged life changes his clients endure. Michael has taken an active role in his community, serving in leadership roles for Young Professional organizations, bar associations and the chamber of commerce. He also served as a Big Brother in the Big Brothers-Big Sisters program. Michael’s practice continues to focus on contested and uncontested estate and guardianships, trust administrations, estate planning, and Medicaid planning.

Michael is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. He is also a member of the Trusts and Estates Section of Illinois State Bar Association. Michael is licensed to practice law in Illinois. Michael prioritizes knowing his clients well and understanding their concerns and goals so that he can give sound advice on how to achieve client goals in a way that makes them feel heard and fulfilled.

Michael earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2014, and also graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. At the University of Michigan, Michael earned a dual major in Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in Community Action and Social Change. While in law school at the University of Wisconsin, Michael was a member of the Mock Trial team and Moot Court Board, where he competed in the Vanderbilt First Amendment Moot Court Competition. Michael also served as an integral contributor to the Criminal Appeals Project Clinic.
Michael is committed to utilizing his background, talents, and passion to assist those at difficult times in their lives involving complex issues surrounding family disharmony, aging, and disability. Michael views himself as someone who can fix difficult problems, and with his excellent advocacy, he can help families regain harmony. Through advanced planning, Michael also hopes to help clients avoid these difficult problems and conflicts all together.
Michael lives with his wife, Kashne, and son, Tarron, in suburban Chicago, where they enjoy cooking, watching Big Ten football, spending time with family, and going for walks.
