At DDV Law, Ltd, we feel it’s important to take advantage of unique occasions to expand our working knowledge and personal experiences. So last month, from 9/13 through 9/21, Amy Delaney traveled to Lisbon, Portugal, to be part of a National Academy of Elder Law (NAELA) attorney delegation. Everyone learned about Portugal’s elder law system, including medical, long-term care, and social security programs, as well as ways to help Americans facilitate EU citizenship.

As the attorneys journeyed through Portugal’s historic towns and modern cities, they engaged with local elder law experts, attorneys, and artists to discuss Portuguese and EU legal and political systems and US-Portuguese relations. They were also able to immerse themselves in the art, history, architecture, and religion of the community. The educational opportunity offered CLE credits, keeping Amy at the top of her game in elder law. She was able to share the experience with the team at DDV, becoming a resource for new information. We encourage everyone to do the same whenever possible.
