- Take care of you own health so that you can be strong enough to take care of your loved one
- Allow yourself enough sleep (7-8 hrs)
- Become educated about possible challenges your loved one is currently enduring
- Be open to new technologies that can help you care for your loved one
- Join support groups and look out for signs of depression
- Allow yourself “me” time to improve your mood and outlook
- Utilize community resources by hiring additional support, applying for government care programs, and/or seeking a long term care facility
- Ensure legal documents are in order
