On October 19, 2022, DDV Law Attorneys Amy Delaney and Shannon Briggs attended the Cook County Women of Probate Night with many dear friends and colleagues, including Chantal Blackmore! Chantal Blackmore was the guest of honor, and Amy Delaney was privileged to make a toast in her honor.

Chantal Blackmore served the Cook County Probate Division for over 30 years and recently retired in August. Chantal was a welcome presence in Cook County and began her career at a time when there were few female attorneys in the courtroom. She was always there to guide and mentor attorneys through difficult court procedures. Chantal’s work ethic and attention to detail made her stand out, but her eagerness to learn made her rise to the top.

Chantal initiated the first Women of Probate Night to encourage female attorneys to build camaraderie outside the courtroom. Over the years, these events have permitted women to have an opportunity to collaborate and mentor one another, working as a team to lead and encourage younger female attorneys. Many of us would not be in probate law today without the efforts and leadership of Chantal Blackmore.

The retirement of Chantal Blackmore leaves a void in our professional community, but we know we will always be friends with Chantal!
